Review: Afternoon Tea at art’otel London Battersea Power Station
Joia, found on the 15th floor of art’otel opposite Battersea Power Station, offers panoramic views of London's skyline aswell as perfect views of the iconic building itself. The restaurant's elegant interiors and serene ambiance make it an ideal spot to unwind and indulge in a delicious Afternoon Tea. Whilst enjoying your Afternoon Tea, an electric guitarist provides live entertainment. The soothing melodies enhance the experience, creating a harmonious backdrop for your elegant experience.
Joia's Afternoon Tea menu boasts a diverse range of flavours. From delicate pastries to traditional savory bites, each dish is thoughtfully crafted. The stunning venue offers a selection of finger sandwiches, each meticulously prepared. Expect classics like smoked salmon and cream cheese to egg mayonnaise. The bread is fresh and the fillings well-balanced. For a twist, try their salted beef with horseradish and watercress sandwich – the strong flavours are a delightful surprise for the taste buds.
The scones at Joia are a highlight. Served warm, they're crumbly on the outside and soft inside. Traditional plain scones are accompanied by clotted cream and strawberry jam. The portions are ample, ensuring you leave satisfied.
On the top tier of the three layered stand the star of the show are found – the pattiserie.
These dainty confections are almost too pretty to eat. The chocolate & banana mousse is vibrant and delicate, but my personal favourite is the pear & almond choux bun, which had the perfect texture. It was filled with a sharp passion fruit cremeux which contrasted with the sweetness of the fruit. The custard tart, topped with raspberries was a traditional nod to seasonal British produce.
In summary, Joia offers a serene escape with stunning views, delightful live music, and a memorable Afternoon Tea. The joy of this menu lies not only in the flavours but also in the presentation. Joia's attention to detail ensures a superb Afternoon Tea experience.
