About
Only avaliable 28th July - 23rd August 2025.
Perhaps one of the most renowned auction houses in the world, Sotheby's deal in a range of antique items from over 50 different categories including jewellery and paintings. This summer in conjunction with the Hafla exhibition we will be running a A Quintessentially British Afternoon Tea with an Eastern Bloom.
In a natural extension to The Summer Season, celebrating London’s reputation as a multicultural melting pot for the arts and creativity, this August, Sotheby’s will transform its galleries into a hub of culture, art and craft dedicated to exploring myriad themes and media across the Middle East. From the early Islamic period to the modern and contemporary with a focus on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this dynamic exhibition weaves together the rich threads of cultural heritage. The title of the exhibition, Hafla, is the Arabic word for celebration, but goes beyond the English definition, denoting the celebration of something that is truly deserving of special care and attention.
Afternoon tea is served in the Sotheby’s restaurant on the ground floor at the New Bond Street entrance.
The menu is your traditional quintessentially British Afternoon Tea with a fusion of Middle Eastern flavours and twists.
